Croatian artist Duro Pulitika on artecro.com


History

Croatian painter, born in 1922 in the village Bosanka near Dubrovnik, and died in 2006 in Dubrovnik.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where his professors were Ruben Šulentić, Ljubo Babić, Krsto Hegedusic.
In Cetinje attends Art School, then finishes the Applied Arts in Herceg Nova in 1950. Returns to Bosanka and from 1957 permanently settles in Dubrovnik. Identified by its distinctive Dubrovnik landscapes with bright colors (Stone and olive trees, vineyards, sunny landscape ...). Exhibited around the world. He has received numerous prestigious awards.

Recently we aquired paintings of one of the most renowned Croatian artists, Duro (Đuro) Pulitika.
Even though Croatian artists don't usualy make it to the international scene, Pulitika has made an impact and with a handfull of other painters put Croatian on the artistic map of the world.
